Wildlife of Lagodekhi

We are walking through the territory of one of the oldest nature reserves in Georgia. Century-old trees overgrown with moss, ferns and humid subtropical air. This is the greenest route, where the shade of trees saves you from the heat along the entire route

40-meter waterfall Gurgeniani

The final prize of the route is a powerful waterfall falling from a steep cliff into a deep bowl. The noise of the water is such that you can’t hear your interlocutor. It’s always cool at the foot of the mountain due to the mist of water, and the bravest ones can take a swim in the icy plunge pool before a picnic

Day itinerary

08:00 – 10:30Departure from Tbilisi. We are driving through Kakheti towards the Lagodekhi Nature Reserve
10:30 – 11:00Registration in the information center. Short stop at the entrance to the reserve and the beginning of the route
11:00 – 13:30Hike to the waterfall. We go upstream of the river (about 5 km). The road is not steep, but requires maneuverability due to rocks and fords
13:30 – 15:00Rest at the waterfall and lunch. We take photos, take a break from the trek and have a picnic right by the water
15:00 – 17:00The way back. We go down the canyon to the exit from the reserve. Going down is always a little faster
17:00 – 20:30Road to Tbilisi. We return to the metro station 300 Aragviytsev
